Clock in and out

Clock-in and timesheets are enabled per organisation — if the pages mention they “aren’t enabled for your organisation”, contact us to switch the module on.

Where you clock

There are two ways to punch in and out:

• The mobile app — clock in and out from your phone. Punches can carry your location so managers see they happened at the right site.
• A kiosk tablet — a shared device at the door running Rotaleave’s kiosk mode. Tap your name, enter your PIN, and you’re clocked in or out. See Set up a clock-in kiosk.

There’s deliberately no clock button in the desktop web app — punches happen where the work happens. The web’s Today page shows your published shift for the day (“Your shift today”), and the Timesheets page is where the punches end up.

Your kiosk PIN

An admin sets your PIN from People → Kiosk PIN — 4 to 8 digits, entered twice. As the dialog explains, the PIN “lets you clock in/out on a shared kiosk tablet by selecting your name and entering it.” Forgotten PINs are simply reset the same way.

Geofencing: warn, never block

Sites can have a geofence (a radius around the workplace). Rotaleave’s rule, verbatim from the settings screen: “Geofence is a WARN only — a punch outside this radius is flagged for manager review, never blocked.” So a punch from the car park still lands; it just gets an Outside geofence flag on the timesheet for a human to judge.

What builds from your punches

Every punch pair becomes a line on your weekly timesheet — reviewed, corrected if needed, and approved by your manager. If you’ve enabled it in notification preferences, you get an email when your weekly timesheet is approved.
