Holiday in hours, because shifts aren't 9-to-5
Two hours for the school play. A half-shift on Saturday. Rotaleave books it exactly — and the balance stays exact too.
Minute-accurate balances
Allowances are a ledger in hours and minutes, not a tally of days. What's left is always exactly what's left.
Timed bookings
Book 09:00–12:30 off, not 'a morning'. The wall chart and the balance always agree.
Per-person working patterns
Four-day weeks, split shifts, alternating rotas — each person's pattern drives what a 'day' of holiday actually costs.
Fair for part-timers
Pro-rata allowances calculated from real hours, so part-time staff stop losing out to day-based rounding.
Book 9:00 to 12:30, not 'a morning'
Pick Hours, set the times, done — the balance deducts exactly three and a half hours.
Demo data pictured — Big Shot Fabrication Ltd is (sadly) fictional.
Common questions
How is holiday in hours calculated?
Allowances are stored in hours and minutes. A booking deducts exactly the time booked, so part-time and shift staff are never rounded up to a "half day" they did not take.
Can day-based and hour-based staff mix?
Yes. Salaried staff can keep booking full and half days while hourly staff book by the clock — the wall chart shows both correctly.
What about different shift lengths?
Each person has their own working pattern, so a "day" of holiday deducts that person's real hours for that day — not a company-wide average.
