Holiday entitlement calculator
Work out statutory UK annual leave for any working pattern. Enter the days worked per week and your full-time allowance — we apply the 5.6-week rule, the 28-day statutory cap, and round up to the nearest half day.
Estimate only, based on statutory rules — not legal advice. Check gov.uk or Acas for edge cases.
Doing this for a whole team, every year?

Common questions
How is UK holiday entitlement calculated?
Almost all UK workers get 5.6 weeks of paid holiday a year. Multiply the days worked per week by 5.6 — someone on 5 days gets 28 days, capped at the statutory 28. Part-time staff get the same 5.6 weeks pro-rata to the days they work.
Is the 28 days on top of bank holidays?
Not necessarily. The 5.6 weeks (28 days for full-time) can legally include the 8 UK bank holidays. Employers can choose to give bank holidays on top, but they do not have to. Check the contract.
Do I round part-time holiday up or down?
Round up. Statutory entitlement should be rounded up to the nearest half or full day in the worker’s favour — never down. This calculator rounds up to the nearest half day.
What if someone works irregular or zero hours?
For irregular-hours and part-year workers, holiday is usually accrued at 12.07% of hours worked. See our holiday accrual calculator and the zero-hours guide.
